Practice Makes Sew Perfect
Sew into this. Class was just sew busy today.
Before we can really sew, we have to practice. Kacie is really having a good time. Sew Smile why don’t ya!
Just Sew Much Fun. Well that’s what we are having. Sewing is fun. We love it.
This the second day of sewing class and boy were we busy. Learning how to thread the machine over and over. Practice makes perfect. We also learned how to wind the bobbin. But we really had fun stitching the lines on paper. The straight lines were okay, but the curves, ughhh, they were a challenge.
Next week we will be ready to really sew on fabric. Samples first. Then the real thing. Cross our fingers!!!!
Hello world!
The “1st Stitch” Classroom is dedicated to South Phoenix Youth Center and the community it serves. Thanks to Jon Taylor of the 100 Black Men, Carole Coles Henry, Mary Rose Wilcox and the many others who have donated to this wonderful cause. The vision of “1st Stitch” came about  to create a space for people of the community to get back to learning basics. Learning basics that spark ingenuity and entreprenuership. Skills offered are sewing, knitting, crochet, upholstery and other textile creations. Our mission is to provide basic life skills to enhance ones lifestyle and/or employement opportunities. While all along being creative and having fun.
